Seeing the Shadows in her father's eyes

Watching Sander come down from where Looking glass had remained for days even weeks now, Seeing all to well that his meaning with him hadn't gone well. The buckskin yearling filly Olathe looked up to where her father was. Her worry had only grown the past few days making her want to go up to the hill herself and surely she did. Shania had seen her daughter head up towards looking glass and trotted after her. "Olathe? Where are you going?" She asked her stopping her half way there looking to her mother the filly answered.

"To talk with father. I worried about him and I just can't take it anymore."

Shania knew it might be best to leave him be but all the same as her daughter she worried. She knew the death of the young filly SnowBell had hit him hard for it had wounded her. Being the second in command to the lead mare Nix she felt she should had made sure the young filly was safe. All the same with all that had been happening she more concerned with trying to help keep the herd together.

"Alright, but I'll go with you" Shania said to her yearling daughter.

Going up to the place where he stood Olathe stepped ahead of her mother and called out her father even before she got to him. "Father?" Her sweet voice was soft and warm but still it was filled with concern for him. "Looking Glass?" Shania said softly when he didn't respond at first. Finally when he did look at them Olathe could see the shadows that had formed behind her father's beautiful blue eyes.

"Oh father....." Olathe barely got out before she rushed over to him and simply nuzzled into her father's shoulder and neck.
